The Mission Council at St. Maximus the Confessor Orthodox Church is the administrative body that assists the priest in the operation of the church's daily functions, including the budget, building and property development, event planning, and other areas. Mission Council members are appointed by the Bishop of the Diocese of the South in consultation with the parish priest. Membership on the council is served in one-year, renewable terms, beginning in September of each year.
Meetings are held on the second Sunday of the month after the Divine Liturgy, and are open to all parish members. To suggest a topic for the Mission Council to discuss, see any Mission Council member or Fr. Justin. Agenda items should be submitted by Wednesday of the week before the meeting.
2016-17 Mission Council members are: Michael Rehmet, Warden; Jordan Rovny, Treasurer; George Rovny, Subdeacon Anthony Stokes, and Shane Gibson. Meetings are chaired by Fr. Justin Frederick.
The Annual Meeting takes place the last Sunday in September of each year, when the budget for the church year is approved. Information on Parish Meetings and Mission Council issues can be found on the Church Members' Page.
